A team capable of competing with the top teams in the nation and of earning a berth at the USAV Junior Nationals Championship. Open level teams will normally participate in 2-3 high-level out-of-state tournaments.
A team capable of competing well with the top teams in the Keystone Region. Teams will normally participate in at least one tournament outside of the Keystone Region such as the National Qualifier in Baltimore.
A young team whose competition and tournament schedule will be decided after an assessment of their skill level shortly after the team selection has taken place. The main competition will be among teams in the Keystone Region. Tournament participation outside of the Keystone Region will be optional.
A team comprised of young athletes new to volleyball (typically under 12 years old). Focus is on skill development. Tournament participation is optional and usually limited to 1 or 2 competitions.
Athletes may play up in their age bracket but not down. The region occasionally will grant exceptions for athletes who are close to the age cutoff date.
