Season Updates

March 21st – Mule Classic 16s Open

The team faced a long day of tough competition in an Open tournament, but came away with some wins, some pleasant surprises, and some unfortunate news.   They opened the tournament with two wins over Velocity 16s.   The team then faced several much taller teams, losing 2 to Keystone 16s.  In the next match, however, with East Coast Crush, we fought hard to split, winning the second game.  The next two matches were tough, as we lost to Synergy LV 16-2 and Brandywine Blast.  Unfortunately, while warming up for the Synergy match, Opposite Hitter, Mary Anthony sprained her ankle and was lost for the rest of the day.

The final match of the day was exciting, as the team played against Infinity 16s, the gold medal winner of the tournament.   We lost the first game of the match that wasn’t as close as we’d like.   However, the second game proved to be very exciting as the girls really dug in hard and almost beat the 11-1 team.   The final score was 25-23.  This showed they can play with very good teams and if they continue to work hard, very good things will come ahead.
