All of Push The Rock camps will have a curriculum teaching athletes to value integrity and character both on and off the field. The basic components include:
Sportsmanship Thought
A short, practical challenge for campers to work on during the day. This could deal with how to interact with opponents, how to treat the referees, controlling your attitude, etc. This is done to open camp each morning.
Team Time
This is where a coach and his team get to focus on the theme for the year. Just like a team needs to learn plays and be on the same page, they also need to grow in their knowledge of life and in their relationship with God. This is a time where the team gets to see how sports are a teaching tool to much bigger areas of life.
Chapel
This will take place everyday after lunch so kids can hear a coach’s heart on the focus of the day. We will sometimes have guest speakers, like a local pastor or teacher. This is also a built in down time after lunch to let food settle before jumping back into strenuous activities.
