Home School
Programs
For several years
now, Push The Rock has been on the
cutting edge by offering a sports class to
home-school students. This program continues to
grow, not only because the number of families
home-schooling their children grows, but also
because families are seeing that quality
instruction
and Christian principles are the hallmark of
Push The Rock class.
This is an
exciting new way to share a never changing
message while leveraging your ministry
opportunities. Reach out to your community by
offering this sports class to home-school
families. Statistics show that home-schooling is
expanding, not only among Christian families,
but among non-believers as well. The field is
ripe for the harvest.
New Class Forming
Due to the overwhelming response our home school physical education program has received in the Lehigh Valley, we are very excited to announce plans to open a second home school class. We were recently granted access to use the gym at Calvary Church in Souderton, and will be starting classes in September. We have been truly blessed with the opportunity to build relationships and present the message of Christ within the home school community and are very thankful that God has opened the doors for a second location.
2007 Summer
Leagues
As the end of summer gets closer than most school kids would like, our summer leagues have wrapped up too. We have had four team competing throughout the Lehigh Valley this summer and here is a recap of how things went.
Men’s Basketball (South Whitehall League)
The team fought hard all summer with a roster that sometimes varied. We had close to half the team traveling to Italy on our mission trip, which was a great experience for them, but left us short-handed. We hovered around the middle of the league until the last week when we were able to jump to the fourth spot and clinch the last playoff berth. Although we lost in the first round, it was a great experience for the team. You can pray for a few team members who do not know the Lord. It was a great experience for them and they are very open to spiritual things right now.
Men’s Soccer (Lehigh Valley Summer Soccer League)
We had two men’s teams in the league again this year. They were in opposite divisions, so all 19 other teams in the league had contact with a Push The Rock team. Both teams were near the top of their divisions and received playoff berths. Our 6:00 team was knocked out in the second round while our 7:15 team lost in the semifinals. Both teams had some great opportunities and you can pray for team members who are not believers. Pray that we are able to stay in contact with them and continue to witness outside of soccer.
Women’s Soccer (Lehigh Valley Summer Soccer League)
Our women’s team came into the season as the team to beat. As defending champs and losers of only one game last season, all the other teams brought their best efforts when playing us. Although we only finished third during the season, the women had a great playoff run which was capped off by a 4-3 triple overtime win in the championship game. Pray for all the ladies as they head back to “normal” life, which for most is school and their college team. May they carry the passion of sports ministry back to their campus.
Thank you for following our programs and praise the Lord for a summer void of major injuries. May the seeds that were planted be nurtured this fall and may the Lord get the glory.
